Kindred WorksNext Steps Rev. Miriam Bowlby and Kris Tavella from Kindred Works joined us for worship and then for a Conversation That Matters in Hilliard Hall on Sunday, April 14 to talk about possible redevelopment of our church property. As a next step in this process a date will be set for a congregational meeting to decide if we want to continue to work with Kindred Works on redevelopment. Click below to read more. Multi-Cultural Potluck and Games Day... and celebrating Matthew's birthday! On Saturday, April 27th a Multi Cultural Potluck will be held. Games at 1p.m. and potluck dinner at 5 p.m. Everyone welcome! Successful Grant!Security and Prevention First United Church has been awarded a $15,000 Ontario Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant. These provincial grants aims to combat hate in Ontario and build stronger, safer and more inclusive communities. This grant is in response to a the recent rise in hate incidents in Ontario. Chair of the Church BoardUpdate from Nominating Committee There was no one listed for this position at the annual meeting in February. Rick Heemskerk is now past chair and still a member of the Board. We are in the happy position of having Kristin Snell as vice chair. Kristin will take over as Board chair in January 2025.
