Greetings to the First United community of faith,
I trust this email finds you all well. I find that many of us have found a sort of rhythm to our days, exploring new ways to live the love that God gifts us with each day. We are finding practices that help us internalize God's promise of care and trust, that God will supply enough grace to get through our day.
We have a small group of parishioners who have volunteered to facilitate and lead our twice weekly prayer group on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9:00 am. The format of the gathering is to participate in a meditative prayer to start and then continue with Lectio Divina. Lectio Divina is a traditional monastic approach to scriptural reading, where the text is viewed as God's living word, rather than a text to be studied. Once the chosen scripture is read a few times through, participants are welcome to share any thoughts they have in connection with how God is speaking to them through the text in their present context. If this is something you are interested in, or even just a little curious about, please check out the zoom link on our website https://www.firstunitedchurch.
Otherwise, I look forward to welcoming you to our Christian Family Day service on Sunday.
Blessings on your day,
Eva
