A Joyful Finale

Kids' Concerts at First Ends the Season on a High Note!

Apr 6(Sun), 2025

Our final Kids' Concert at First was a vibrant celebration that brought the season to a joyful close! The hall rang with rhythm and laughter as children, parents, and grandparents gathered for a morning of music and community.

The heart of the concert was led by amazing Dr. Sylvanus “Kwashie” Kuwor, a visiting professor at Wilfrid Laurier University and a renowned Ghanaian ethnomusicologist. Joined by Brennan Connolly and two talented Laurier music students, the ensemble brought powerful West African drumming and storytelling to life—inviting children to listen, move, and play alongside them.

It was a beautiful display of intergenerational joy, with little ones dancing, collecting stickers, and even joining the musicians at the drums.

This incredible series would not have been possible without the dedication and hospitality of Heather and Sharon, who coordinated each detail with care and love. Their commitment has made Kids' Concerts at First a gift to our wider community. A huge kudos to volunteers Joan, Joe and Matt who made this concert possible behind the scenes.

Thank you to everyone who participated and supported us throughout the season.
